Kilka dni temu minął Dzień Przyjaźni Polsko-Węgierskiej, więc Racjonalista nadrabia zaległość. 12 marca 2007 parlament węgierski przyjął deklarację uznającą dzień 23 marca Dniem Przyjaźni Polsko-Węgierskiej, deklarację poparło 324 posłów, nikt się nie wstrzymał, nikt nie był przeciw. Analogiczną uchwałę 16 marca 2007 podjął przez aklamację Sejm RP. Ádám Mirkóczki:Today we celebrate the day of Polish-Hungarian friendship for the ninth time in order to commemorate the two nations' unique, thousand-year-old sympathy, which is unparalleled in human history.
We believe that the friendship of Poles and Hungarians is such a strong and unbreakable bond that we can and we must preserve for the future generations as well. This friendship could never be broken by the turmoil of war, the terrible atrocities of the 20th century, which drifted us to opposing sides in alliance*, or Communism. However, we cannot allow political dilettantism to degrade the alliance of the two nations into mere partisan political relations.
Paying tribute to 23rd March and respect to the legendary legacy of the two nations, let us point out that the alliance of Poles and Hungarians is not for just one day each year. It is always valid, thriving everywhere and in all ages. That is why we must continue preserving and maintaining our relations in each day of the year, even after the celebrations, as this is the only way for us to revitalize our bond and make it last another millennium!

Vice Chairman of the Hungary-Poland Friendship Group of the Inter-Parliamentary Union [*] Podczas wojny polsko-bolszewickiej Węgry były jedynym krajem w regionie, który zaoferował atakowanej przez bolszewików Polsce pomoc militarną w postaci 30 tys. kawalerzystów. Siły te nie zasiliły jednak obrony kraju ze względu na brak zgody rządów Czechosłowacji i Rumunii na przejazd oddziałów węgierskich przez terytoria tych krajów. Czesi nie chcieli nawet przepuścić transportów broni dla polskiego wojska, które Węgrzy postanowili przekazać wojsku polskiemu do walki z komunistami. Ostatecznie dzięki zgodzie Rumunii Węgry dostarczyły do Polski własnym taborem kolejowym broń i amunicję.
