Tydzień temu z okładem liczna grupa europejskich artystów na czele z Rogerem Watersem z zespołu Pink Floyd wystąpiła z petycją wzywającą do przeniesienia najbliższego festiwalu Eurowizji z Izraela do innego państwa. Mniej więcej w tym samym czasie w Izraelu odbył się Meteor Festival - festiwal rocka alternatywnego (indie rock) - zbojkotowany, w ramach bojkotu Izraela z jego politykę rasistowskiego apartheidu względem Palestyńczyków - przez około 40 % uczestników, którzy mieli w nim uczestniczyć.
festiwal jak wyżej zbojkotowała także Lana Del Rey - mająca być głównym gwoździem programu.
Inny popularny zespół biorący udział w bojkocie o nazwie "of Montreal" na facebooku zamieścił następujący wpis: "Now is not the time for escapism and celebrations," "Now is the time for activism and protests against Israeli apartheid, Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the human rights atrocities being carried out every day in Gaza by Israeli forces." ("Teraz nie czas na eskapizm i imprezy. Teraz jest czas na aktywność i protesty przeciwko izraelskiemu apartheidowi, przeciw izraelskiej okupacji Zachodniego Brzegu, przeciw gwałceniu - każdego dnia - praw człowieka przez izraelskie siły bezpieczeństwa na terenie Gazy" - tłumaczenie Arminius).
Indie rock to specyficzny rock, niezależny,alternatywny, trafiający do młodych ludzi o poglądach postępowych i liberalnych, którzy - w przeciwieństwie do swych rodziców - mają zdecydowanie mniej tolerancji dla zbrodni i gwałtów wyczynianych przez Izrael. Żydowskich macherów od cybernetyki społecznej sytuacje jak wyżej doprowadza do szału. Per fas inefas usiłują przeciwdziałać idei bojkotu jak wyżej - przeznaczając na antybojkotowe poczynania miliony dolarów.

"We, the undersigned artists from Europe and beyond, support the heartfelt appeal from Palestinian artists to boycott the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 hosted by Israel. Until Palestinians can enjoy freedom, justice and equal rights, there should be no business-as-usual with the state that is denying them their basic rights.
On 14 May, days after Israel's Eurovision win, the Israeli army killed 62 unarmed Palestinian protesters in Gaza, including six children, and injured hundreds, most with live ammunition. Amnesty International has condemned Israel's shoot-to-kill-or-maim policy and Human Rights Watch described the killings as "unlawful and calculated".
Eurovision 2019 should be boycotted if it is hosted by Israel while it continues its grave, decades-old violations of Palestinian human rights. We understand that the European Broadcasting Union is demanding that Israel finds a "non-divisive" location for the 2019 Eurovision. It should cancel Israel's hosting of the contest altogether and move it to another country with a better human rights record. Injustice divides, while the pursuit of dignity and human rights unites."
